Crystal Palace's Sullay Kaikai met Rio Ferdinand after their narrow defeat to Newcastle.
Crystal Palace youngster Sullay Kaikai scored his first goal for the club against Newcastle, in a narrow Capital One Cup defeat.
Former Manchester United defender and current QPR star Rio Ferdinand had been in attendance at Selhurst Park, and made a beeline for the 19-year-old winger after the game to congratulate him.
Kaikai had come off the substitute's bench to net Palace's second goal of the game to force the game to extra-time, with Newcastle emerging 3-2 winners.
He commented after the game via his Twitter feed further on his dream debut.
Thank you everyone and @CPFC for my chance. I'm speechless and really buzzing I scored! A feeling I will never forget. Amen— Sullay Kaikai (@SullayKaikai) September 24, 2014
Kaikai spent a short time on loan at Crawley Town last season, and impressed in pre-season for the Eagles.
His immediate impact will provide the Englishman with the platform to go on and make the most of further first team opportunities.
