Juan Angel Pozo has been speaking following his goal-scoring debut for Manchester City on Wednesday.

The 18-year scored in the 7-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, but he thinks talk of him being a ‘mini Messi’ is wide of the mark.

In quotes published by the Daily Mail, Pozo said, “It’s a dream to make my debut and also score. I’m very happy for this.”

But of the comparisons with the Barcelona superstar, Pozo said, “This is crazy. Messi is the best player in the world and I have only played one game for the first-team.”

Some players would love the comparison and foolishly believe it, but it is clear the Spaniard is smart as well as talented and it will be interesting to see how he develops in the years to come.

In other news, Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke could make his return from injury against City.

The Belgian international has been out with an Achilles injury but the Belfast Telegraph reports that he could be back in time to face Manuel Pellegrini’s side on October 4.
