Mason came up with a stunning equaliser against Forest as Spurs progressed to the next round of the League Cup
Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason made an impression on last night's League Cup tie against Nottingham Forest, as Spurs came from behind to win 3-1 against the Championship leaders to progress to the fourth round of the competition.
Mason's intervention in the game was crucial. After Forest took the lead, it was his eye-catching equalising goal in that set the platform for Spurs to push on and win the game as Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane rounded off the scoring - with Spurs facing Championship opposition in the next round in the form of Brighton & Hove Albion.
Understandably, there were some Tottenham fans who were excited after Mason's display and voiced how pleased they were on twitter, with some even saying he should be considered for selection for this weekend's North London derby against Arsenal at White Hart Lane.
Here is what a few of them had to say:
It's a shame Ryan Mason won't play on Saturday. He knows what that game means to us, I fear that some of our players still don't understand.— Nikki (@NikkiH_27) September 25, 2014
