A select round-up of the latest news relating to Chelsea

Following Chelsea’s 2-1 League Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night, Jose Mourinho’s club have drawn League Two side Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round.

Goals from Kurt Zouma and Oscar gave the Blues a home win and their reward is a trip to Shrewsbury who will be relishing the chance to host – and hopefully shock – such illustrious opponents.

Before that Chelsea have the not so small matter of a league match against Aston Villa, and the Villans' Ashley Westwood says his club go into the match with confidence.

In quotes published by the Mirror, the midfielder said, “Last year we went there in the middle of a tough run of games, we played them in midweek and we thought we should have got something out of the game.

“We were unlucky then, but we’ll go there this year with confidence again, just as we did against Liverpool at Anfield.”

Chelsea lost their 100 per cent start to the campaign when they drew 1-1 with Manchester City last time out, but Mourinho will want them to get back to winning ways in the league knowing all too well just how tight the chase for the title is likely to be.
