Why is Nottingham Forest gaffer Stuart Pearce concerned he could "look like a nob" when his promotion-chasing team travel to White Hart Lane for a third round League Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening?
It will unlikely be because he believes Spurs will humiliate his club as Forest are unbeaten in the Championship season having returned five wins, three draws, 17 goals scored and just seven against in eight appearances. Forest are top of the table, just 11 places below Tottenham Hotspur in the English football league pyramid and a club who are suffering from mixed form under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
If ever there was a time to spring a cup surprise, however light, it could well be now as the Lilywhites are yet to find their groove.
Pearce, of course, is not afraid of "looking like a nob" for football reasons… but because the man dubbed 'Psycho' during his own playing days is worried what he'll look like wearing green.
"I'm not sure the green jumper will go with the grey suit I'm thinking of wearing," he said, as quoted by Sky Sports recently. "I think I'll look a bit of a nob!"
Nottingham Forest fans are expected to turn up to North London wearing green, rather than their characteristic red, as it is to honour legendary coach Brian Clough.
"It's probably something for the fans. We are fantastically proud of Brian Clough. But I now want history going forward and I think Cloughie himself would say, 'Get rid of all that rubbish and win a football match'.
"Pride in the shirt is everything," he said, determined to leave the Capital with a victory and progression into the fourth round of the tournament. "If you have that affinity and professional pride to be the best, it gives them every opportunity."
