Manchester United fans seemingly can’t decide on whether the decision to give Wayne Rooney the captaincy was a good idea.
In a poll conducted by Goal.com, at the time of writing, fans who took part were split down the middle over whether Rooney being made United captain was a good idea by LvG.
There was a slight preference from fans who said it wasn’t a bad idea by the Dutchman but that preference was just 0.6%.
Rooney has all the characteristics of being a fine leader; he’s aggressive, he leads by example and he’s always been an extremely passionate player throughout his career at Old Trafford.
However, there have been questions hanging over him this season as United have capitulated defensively costing the side points which could be vital by the end of the campaign.
Two goals in his first five Premier League games isn’t a bad start considering he’s playing a slightly deeper role in attack but it’s only a matter of time before United start winning games and Rooney looks even more confident as the skipper.
