United morning news: Ronaldo speaks about rumours; Vidal move back on?

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United have been linked once more with Arturo Vidal, with Italian newspaper Tuttosport claiming the Chilean international could make the move to Old Trafford next summer.

The report suggests that Roma’s stance on Kevin Strootman means a move for Vidal is more likely, although it is highly unlikely they would be able to get their man any sooner than next summer.

With Juventus now involved in the Champions League and their Serie A campaign, United are going to have to be patient if Vidal remains a target – and let’s face it, he should do.

The latest report suggests Juventus may already have a replacement for Vidal in their ranks, in the form of Roberto Pereyra, but United are going to have to spend big money if they really want to tempt Juventus into a deal in the future.

In other news, Cristiano Ronaldo has distanced himself from talk linking him with a return to United.

The Portuguese international has been heavily linked with a summer reunion with his former Old Trafford teammates. But in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS later published by FourFourTwo, the Real Madrid star said, “It’s all speculation, speaking about my future. My future is Madrid, I’m happy.”
