Stoke City fans have heaped praise on the hero of last night, Marc Muniesa.
The left-back scored twice in Stoke's 2-1 win over Sunderland in the League Cup to help them progress to the next round of the competition and many of their supporters feel that he has done enough to warrant a start.
The youngster, who joined up from Barcelona, was in brilliant form as he guided the Potters to a notable success in the cup competition.
Muniesa has spent most his time on the bench at Stoke since arriving from La Liga, but his display last night would have given Mark Hughes a selection headache.
The Spanish defender is unfortunate in the fact that he has to compete with Erik Pieters, one of the side's most talented players, for a starting berth, but he will be hoping that he has impressed enough to force the Dutchman out of the team.
Stoke have had a mixed start to the season after a win against Manchester City has been interspersed by losses to Aston Villa and Leicester City, and there is a feeling that Muniesa's attacking intent could prove to be a good weapon for the side.
Stoke take on Newcastle United at the weekend and it seems there may be some disappointment if Hughes doesn't name Muniesa in his starting line-up.
Here is some of the best reaction from Stoke's fans on Twitter after their cup success last night.
Safe to say under Pulis we wouldn't have seen our left back bag a brace last night #scfc.— Alex Garvey (@AGarvey11) September 24, 2014

Excellent goals by our boy Marc Muniesa. 2 well taken shots. Hopefully he gains some form and start more games. Can be top quality.— Abdulla (@abual3bed1) September 23, 2014
@northstokie at home Muniesa is a must start. His quality on the ball could be the difference. Pieters just isn't that good going forward.— S.C.F.C. (@depstoke) September 24, 2014
Arnie has to do better there. Muniesa showing Hughes why he deserves a start vs Newcastle.— Matthew Kirby (@m_kirby95) September 23, 2014
