QPR latest: Sandro fit for Southampton, Fernandes urged to look at a Plan B

The latest Queens Park Rangers news, views and rumours.

Former Spurs midfielder Sandro should be fit enough to take part in QPR's Premier League clash with Southampton this weekend, according to West London Sport.

The Rs travel to the high-flying Saints, who are second in the table currently, on Saturday afternoon and Brazilian Sandro has reportedly been passed fit to play after recently injuring his knee in training.

Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch, however, look unlikely to make the clash, claim West London Sport.

All three will be re-assessed tomorrow morning.

Tony Fernandes

Elsewhere, Powerday managing director Mark Benstead hopes Tony Fernandes has a plan B if QPR fail to secure the rights to build a new stadium at Old Oak Common.

“I know Rangers’ ground very well, it has its limitations and they need to move," Benstead is quoted as saying by the Brent and Kilburn Times.

“I have a lot of respect for Tony Fernandes – I don’t think he has been given the best advice in terms of strategy regarding the stadium.

“QPR have got a great team of professional advisors but what they haven’t got is any land to build the stadium.

“I wish QPR all the best. I hope they have options one, two and three.”
