Spurs host Championship leaders Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup tonight, and Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to see his side win after a disappointing run of results.
Sunday's 1-0 loss at home to West Brom left fans severely frustrated, but success in a cup competition would give them something to cheer about.
Spurs won the League Cup in 2008 as they beat Chelsea at Wembley and they will be hoping to pick up at least one trophy this season as they compete in four competitions.
Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb see's the Capital One Cup as the ideal competition for Spurs to win, though he is more than aware that Forest will offer Spurs a real test.
"We have to show that we are capable of winning trophies. I want to win medals here and this competition is a great chance for us,” he told the club's official website.
“Of course, we know all about Forest, they are a good team, in great form and they are going to fight all the way."
“They will want to win against a Premier League team, but we have to impose our tempo on the game and show them that we are not taking this game lightly."
“We have seen time and again what can happen in cup competitions, big teams can get knocked out by lower league sides so we will be focused to make sure that doesn't happen to us.”
Manchester United went crashing out against MK Dons in the previous round, while Arsenal and Everton were eliminated from the competition last night, and Spurs will feel that they are in a strong position to advance to the latter stages if they can improve on their recent display's.
