Arsenal fans react to Diaby's comeback performance on Twitter - 'He could be key'

We compile the best reaction on Twitter to About Diaby's latest comeback from injury in the 2-1 defeat to Southampton in the League Cup last night.

Arsenal fans have had a mixed reaction to Abou Diaby's latest return from injury.

The central-midfielder is a talented individual, but he has never managed to stay fit for a sustained period of time and there is already scepticism about how long his latest comeback will last for.

Diaby's career has been plagued by injury problems, which have meant he has never developed into the player that he promised to be, but he will be hoping that this time he can have a run of games.

The Frenchman was in the heart of Arsenal's midfield last night as the side took on Southampton in the League Cup, but he didn't really have the desired effect.

Although Diaby was by no means the worst performer in a Gunners shirt, Arsene Wenger's side exited the Capital One Cup in rather surprising circumstances to Southampton.

Wenger named a fairly strong side for the match against the Saints, but Ronald Koeman's side proved too strong for the North-London outfit and continued their fine start to the campaign with a 2-1 victory at the Emirates.

It was a disappointing end to Diaby's comeback, but he will know that he has a chance of forcing his way into starting contention if he can avoid injury.

Arsenal are lacking a midfield enforcer and he has all the attributes to fill that void providing he stays fit.

It is a prospect which makes Arsenal fans optimistic, but from the reaction on Twitter to his display last night they are not getting carried away with his recent return to action.

Here are some of the best reactions of Diaby's performance on social media.
