Di Maria and Falcao dominate kit sales, Arsenal have 403% rise

Falcao Atletico Shirts

Manchester United pair Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao are the two more popular names this summer but Arsenal have seen the biggest increase.

Ever wondered who the most printed name in football is? Well now a good idea of just who that is has been made available from one of the world's biggest football kit stores.

Online kit retailer Kitbag, who offer personalised printing on most of the jerseys they sell, has revealed some interesting statistics about just who is the most popular name to get on the back of a shirt in the Premier League.

It has certainly thrown up some interesting results. Manchester United's number one is their most expensive player. Shirts with Angel Di Maria printed on to the back account for 20.6 per cent of sales for Manchester United kits. Arsenal's is Alexis Sanchez, with 36.4 per cent and Liverpool fans will not be surprised to see Steven Gerrard is number one at Liverpool, with 23.7 %.

Manchester City's main man remains Sergio Aguero on 33.7 per cent of shirts and Chelsea have another newbie leading the way on their kits, Cesc Fabregas adorning 26.6 per cent of shirts.

But interestingly, while Di Maria may well top Falcao in regards to the overall sales of shirts nobody made a more immediate impact when signing than Falcao. 33 per cent of shirt sales in the week after he signed had Falcao '9' on the back compared to Di Maria's 24 per cent and Balotelli and Sanchez shared third with 13% in the week after they signed.

But there is no doubt who is the big winner in terms of turnover this summer. Perhaps due to the influx of new signings and the new kit deal with Puma their has been a rise of 403 per cent in the sale of Arsenal shirts through the kitbag website since this time last year.

That is a quite staggering increase, and you can be sure Arsenal will be laughing all the way to the bank with their cut of these merchandise sales.
