This week Arsenal have found themselves heavily linked with a move for a player being dubbed the 'new Samuel Eto'o'. Lyon striker Clinton N'Jie is the man in question and there is little wonder they are supposedly so keen.
N'Jie is a very talented striker and has come to the fore this month after scoring three goals in two games for the Cameroon national team, including a brace against the Ivory Coast.
With his deal expiring in two years time and a reported release clause of just £800,000 the reports certainly seemed to carry credence. Arsene Wenger of course has history with bargain buys from French football.
So despite N'Jie only scoring the one goal for the Lyon first-team could Arsenal really make a move for the player? Perhaps, but they won't be getting him that cheap any more.
Because N'Jie has signed a new deal at Lyon today.
The club confirmed earlier today that N'Jie will not be going anywhere after committing his future to the club until 2019 - and they would have been silly not to eradicate that release clause in the process.
