Arsenal striker happy for his 'bro' Abou Diaby on injury comeback

Yaya Sanogo was upset Arsenal lost to Southampton last night but was pleased to see Abou Diaby back in action.

Arsenal are out of the League Cup after a well rotated side were defeated by high-flying Southampton at The Emirates Stadium last night. Goals from Dusan Tadic and Nathaniel Clyne proved enough for victory for The Saints - against an Arsenal team that contained the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere and Lukas Podolski in the starting line-up.

But all in all it was a weakened Arsenal team. The likes of Isaac Hayden, Francis Coquelin and Joel Campbell all started the game. There was also several returns to action. David Ospina played his first game after a summer move from Nice while there was also a return to action for French midfielder Abou Diaby.

The midfield dynamo has had a torrid time with injuries throughout his career and had not pulled an Arsenal shirt on in anger so far this season.

He played just once last term, against Norwich in May and before that had not featured since March 2013 - so needless to say this was a big occasion for the Frenchman.

And another French star who knows a thing or two about injury lay-offs is Yaya Sanogo. He is currently out with yet another injury, having been plagued by issues since his arrival at the club last summer. Even before he joined, whilst at AJ Auxerre, Sanogo struggled with several injury problems.

But he was pleased to see his 'bro' back in action last night - even if the result did not go the way either would have liked...
