Jack Grealish has revealed that Aston Villa's training session this morning was so tough that it left him wanting his bed.
The Villa players were apparently put through a grueling series of exercises after their weekend defeat to Arsenal ended their unbeaten run in the Premier League.
It was clearly a difficult session as Paul Lambert and Roy Keane look to amend the faults that were exposed by the Gunners on Saturday.
Never needed my bed so much! Good, hard session this morning preparing for the weekend!!☺ Off for the fattest nap of my life— Jack Grealish (@JackGrealish1) September 23, 2014
Villa have made an impressive start to life this season, but it seems like the management team are not resting on their laurels.
Despite the aforementioned defeat to Arsene Wenger's side, the Claret and Blue remain firmly placed near the top of the league and have already picked up some impressive scalps this year.
Their away win over Stoke City was eye-catching, but a victory over Liverpool at Anfield is set to live long in the memory. It has quashed any doubts about their ability to stay up this season, and Villa will be looking to build on their momentum.
Although the club's good form will have pleased Grealish, it has made his chances of breaking into the team rather limited. The Irish winger has impressed on his fleeting displays for the side, but it has been impossible for Lamert to drop some of his more experienced stars to accommodate the prospect so far.
However, there is an expectation that Grealish will be utilised a lot more as the season progresses and he threatens to be one of the most exciting prospects that Villa have produced in a number of years.
Last season, the fleet-footed attacker destroyed defences in League One whilst on loan at Notts County and he will now be looking to have a similar impact at the top level.
He has been used sparingly so far this season as he adapts to Premier League football, but he appears to be trying hard in training to impress. If he is given his chance, then he is likely to have the full support of the Villa fans who are seriously excited by his potential.
