Report: Rabiot moving away from Roma, towards Arsenal

In-demand Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot may be beyond Roma's price range, which could push him towards Arsenal.

Adrien Rabiot has been linked to a number of top teams as he remains unsettled at Paris Saint-Germain but Arsenal seem to be frontrunners again.

The talented 19-year-old was close to signing for Arsenal over the summer, but the Gunners couldn't quite close out a deal.

Juventus and then Roma appeared to have overtaken the London side in the chase for Rabiot, but the latest reports suggest that the latter don't have the required financial resources.

A report in Italian newspaper Il Tempo states that Rabiot will see out the season at PSG, running down his contract so that he can leave for free.

The paper believes that although Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini would like to pounce next summer, he knows he cannot win an auction.

Roma may give up on Rabiot and leave other teams to fight it out for his signature, possibly handing Arsenal the initiative.

A recent study in La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Serie A's top clubs are paying far smaller wages than Premier League sides, making it hard for them to lure players in the transfer market.
