Stephy Mavididi made his bow for the under-21s on Monday night.
Arsenal scoring sensation Stephy Mavididi made an important step up on Monday night.
After an impressive start to the season with the under-18s, the teenager was handed a call-up to the under-21s.
Mavididi had scored nine goals in just five games so far this season, and is only 16-years-old.
He came on for the final 15 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle at Boreham Wood, a valuable learning experience all the same.
His selection was in part owing to Chuba Akpom being called into the senior squad for the Capital One Cup game, but shows his hard work is not going unnoticed and unrewarded.
It's too early to expect a first team impact from Mavididi this season, but if he continues his current pace, he could become a regular for the under-21s throughout 2014/15.
