Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has given an injury update ahead of the Blues’ Capital One Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday.
David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Stevan Jovetic, Fernando and Samir Nasri are all currently injured, but there was good news regarding all of them.
In comments published on City’s official Twitter account, the Chilean said, “Silva and Aguero will recover for Saturday.
“Jovetic will be ready for Tuesday if not Saturday. Fernando and Nasri maybe next week.”
That means that City could have all five players back for the Champions League match against Roma, while at least three of them look like being ready for the Premier League match against Hull City on Saturday.
With the Blues currently five points behind league leaders Chelsea, Pellegrini will not want them slipping further back in the race for the title, while their loss to Bayern Munich means three points against Roma is a must.
