26-year old Adomah has been one of Boro’s standout performers this season, starting all eight games under Aitor Karanka and registering one goal and one assist in the Championship.
He will play a key part if Boro want to upset Premier League runners-up Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday evening, with the Reds hosting the League Cup third-round tie following their surprise 3-1 defeat to West Ham United.
Karanka’s men are currently on a run of three consecutive victories, a string of results that has moved the Teesiders into the play-off places, with 15 points from eight games.
And Adomah is looking to continue the impressive run of form against the Reds, safe in the knowledge that, with Boro being the underdogs, all the pressure is on their Premier League opposition.
Quoted on GhanaSoccerNet, the 15-time capped winger said: “We can learn something from a Premier League side, especially if they play a strong side.
“We are going there to win but we are obviously underdogs so we know that there is no pressure on us. We also know that there’s pressure on them, I know it’s a cup game but there is still pressure on them while we’ve got nothing to lose.”
Despite needing to focus upon the task at hand, Adomah is excited for the famous Anfield atmosphere, and is hoping that the bumper crowd Boro are taking to Merseyside will make the night a great experience.
“It will be a good experience for everyone who is involved,” the former Barnet and Bristol City man added.
“I’ve never played there before and I’ve never been there before, I’ve just seen Liverpool on TV, so it will be my first experience of Anfield as a person and a professional player. I’m sure it will be a great atmosphere and a great experience for our fans.”
Adomah will be looking to make the difference in the game, providing the spark of creativity that could further upset Liverpool’s questionable start to the season.
