Hull City latest: Ince fee update, early team news and defender’s frustration

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the KC Stadium…

Hull City defender Curtis Davies has told the Daily Star that he wants the Tigers to keep more clean-sheets.

Steve Bruce’s side have allowed the lead to slip on four separate occasions this season and that is something the centre-back wants to rectify.

“It seems like we have gone the other way from last year,” Davies said.

“We had a solid base, kept a lot of clean-sheets and nicked a few 1-0 wins.

“Right now the clean-sheets aren’t coming, which is very frustrating because we’ve started scoring goals.”

Hull’s next match is the Capital One Cup clash against West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, so what better chance for the club’s defence to tighten up than against a side who will be buzzing after their weekend win over Tottenham Hotspur.

In other news, Sky Sports reports that Hatem Ben Arfa is set for his first Hull start tomorrow evening, but fellow loanee Gaston Ramirez is cup-tied.

And finally, the Hull Daily Mail reports that a fee for Tom Ince looks set to finally be agreed between Hull and his former club Blackpool.

The winger arrived on a free transfer this summer, but the Championship side are eligible for a fee due to Ince’s age.
