Chelsea morning news: Real Madrid eye Ramires, Mourinho: We can't get emotional

Chelsea Stadium Stamford Bridge

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Ramires is reportedly a target for former manager Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

The Brazilian has been used inconsistently by Jose Mourinho this season due to the form of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas.

The Mirror claims Real want Ramires to provide defensive cover in midfield.

Jose Mourinho says Chelsea can’t afford to be an emotional side this season.

Mourinho says when games heat up and emotions run high, his side can’t let themselves lose an advantage.

“When the game gets emotional, it doesn't matter that it's 10 versus 11, the numbers are not important. When the games is tactical, yes. And when the game was tactical we felt, even before the red card for Zabaleta, because we sent on Schurrle to win the game, that we were doing it right,” said the boss.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has called on the side to step up a gear after the performance at City.

The Blues are still in a great position as they prepare for the League Cup this week ahead of their home game against Aston Villa this weekend.

“We have two more league games before the international break and we have to be focussed on that and have to win - We have to push ourselves and make better results. We have to work hard every game,” said the defender.
