Spurs fans react on Twitter to West Brom loss: 'We were lucky to lose 1-0'

Tottenham Hotspur supporters didn't rate their side's performance at all on Sunday...

Spurs fans reacted with a mixture of despair and relief after their side's 1-0 defeat to West Brom on Sunday.

The despair came from knowing that they had lost at home to a side that hadn't yet won in the Premier League this season. The relief came from the knowledge that, with that performance, only losing 1-0 was a stroke of luck...

James Morrison netted the winner for the Baggies as the north London side failed to register a victory for their third successive league game.

A 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, also at White Hart Lane, started the trend after Mauricio Pochettino's side had won their first two fixtures back-to-back. Then came a 2-2 draw at Sunderland in a game Tottenham really should have won, before Sunday's dour and uninspiring performance against Alan Irvine's men.

West Brom were good value for the three points - but Spurs deserved to lose. And their fans were full of acknowledgement of that fact on social media after the game. Next up for Spurs are Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup (who are unbeaten so far this season) and Arsenal in the Premier League (who are... also unbeaten so far this season domestically).

Here are the best tweets from supporters after the game, including a picture of a fan who was put to sleep by Tottenham's display...
