Liverpool face a potential battle to keep hold of young midfielder Pedro Chirivella.
The teenager signed from Valencia a year ago and has already made the step up to the Liverpool under-21 team.
Now Spanish newspaper Marca report Real Madrid are interested, dubbing him the new 'Xabi Alonso'.
They write: "Real Madrid's scouting network has as its centre of attention a promising young man currently doing great things at Liverpool: Pedro Chirivella."
Chirivella, 17, is a Spanish youth international, and has already made five appearances for Liverpool's youth sides this season, including four under-21 games, the same number as he made last season in total.
He is clearly a player who has the trust of the Liverpool coaching staff, and this progress is not going unnoticed.
Chirivella could be an outside bet to feature in the Capital One Cup tie at home to Middlesbrough this week, or at least make the bench.
It is unlikely the Reds would sanction moving him on so soon however, no matter how hard Real Madrid try to make them consider otherwise.
