Another fantastic weekend of Premier League action has been completed which leaves fans all over the country purring over several talking points.
Manchester United’s defeat at Leicester has exposed the problems in their defence while Arsenal emerge this morning with their heads held high after the criticism they received after losing to Borussia Dortmund last week.
Who’d have thought it.
We’ve taken a look back on this day last year to see which stories had fans talking.
‘Wenger can splash big on striker in January’
There was constant pressure on the Frenchman to sign a new forward before he brought in Danny Welbeck from Manchester United earlier this summer.
Arsenal remain in great financial shape and could spend big, with a similar theme from this time last year.
‘Suarez causing nightmare for Liverpool teammates’
The Mail suggested that Liverpool were desperate for Luis Suarez to return to first team action.
The striker missed the start of last season as he was banned for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.
The national paper suggested that Suarez was on fire in Liverpool training as he prepared to return to the team.
‘Moyes demands a reaction’
Former Manchester United manager David Moyes demanded a reaction from his players after they lost 4-1 to Manchester City.
It was Moyes’ first taste of the Manchester derby and he responded by telling the players they simply had to do better.
“I've made the players aware of how I expect them to respond. If there was any group of players I would expect that from it would be Manchester United players. It is the way they have been brought up,” said the Scot.
