All the latest Chelsea news including the Manchester City fall-out and captain fantastic speaks out on super Cesc Fabregas.
Manchester City full back Pablo Zabaleta has officially apologised for his dismissal against Chelsea yesterday, Sunday.
"I would like to apologise to everyone for my red card," said the Argentine to his 1.75 million Twitter followers.
However, he is perplexed at how the man he tangled with - Chelsea striker Diego Costa - remained on the field, and posted a photograph that seemingly depicts the fiery forward throttling the Manchester City star.
However after seeing this image I can't believe that Diego Costa remained on the pitch. pic.twitter.com/WwjyG9CXzx— Pablo Zabaleta (@pablo_zabaleta) September 21, 2014
Elsewhere, captain John Terry has marveled at the magic Francesc Fabregas provides through the middle of the park and has enthused a long-reigning partnership between the creative midfielder and prolific goal-scorer Costa.
"We have always wanted to play through the midfielder, that has not changed," said Terry to Sport when speaking of Fabregas's importance to the team. "It was the same when [Frank] Lampard was here. We want to play attractive football.
"Obviously Cesc is a world class player. To have someone so influential from the Spain squad, along with Diego Costa, has been great.
"You can see the qualities Cesc brings to the pitch - he can find passes that other can't. He keeps the ball really well, and he helps us control games."
Terry added: "He is one of us; part of the Chelsea family, and he is playing great. In the short time he has been here, he has made a big impression. He has a long contract, and we all hope he can bring great success to Chelsea for years to come."
And finally, in 'Tunnel Cam' footage released by Manchester City, midfielder Yaya Toure can be seen slapping Eden Hazard - just how will the Belgium international plot his revenge?
