Hull City midfielder Mohamed Diame has praised Steve Bruce following his impressive start to life at the Tigers.

The former West Ham United player believes he can excel at the KC Stadium, which will be music to the ears of those fans who have already taken to him.

In quotes published by the Hull Daily Mail, Diame said, “I like Hull as a club. I can see myself doing well here.

“The manager is good for me. He gives me confidence and I want to pay that back. I like playing for people who believe in you.”

In other news, Burnley striker George Boyd has told his new club to follow in the footsteps of Hull if they want to ensure Premier League longevity.

In quotes published by the Lancashire Telegraph, the forward said Burnley’s ethos under Sean Dyche is similar to Hull’s under Steve Bruce.

“Steve Bruce was always building on the defence and you build forward,” Boyd said. “If you keep clean-sheets you’ll win games, so it’s very similar, and a great team spirit very similar to Hull.”

And finally, the Tigers’ under-18s continued their impressive start to the season, winning 3-0 against Scunthorpe United.

Goals from Ben Hinchliffe, Luke Lofts and Josh Clackstone gave the Tigers the win.
