Shadow Of Mordor

An interview with the developers of the new Lord of the Rings game gives a 30 minute look at the newly-revealed challenge mode.

During the GAME24 event hosted by Nvidia, amongst the livestreams and content shown, was a sit-down with the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor devs to show off their upcoming game on PC.

Michael De Plater of Monolith Productions gives an overview of the story and it's place in the LotR timeline, followed by the live gameplay demo outlining the game's challenge mode - the particular challenge shown asks to the player to kill 5 Warchiefs along with all 20 Captains, with rewards depending on the time it's completed in and how many deaths are incurred.

The challenge mode also has leaderboards to compare scores with others online, along with the rewards for completing the challenges.

Talion and the Elven wraith inhabiting his body are also talked about whilst the gameplay footage shows fluid and impressive combat that's akin to the Batman Arkham series. Check it out below!

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 30th September, and PS3 and Xbox 360 on 18th November.
