West Ham players react on Twitter to Liverpool win - goalscorer features

Upton Park

West Ham notched an impressive 3-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday, and some of their players took to Twitter after the match.

The mood around Upton Park was fairly downbeat after West Ham's recent 3-1 thumping at the hands of Southampton, but Sam Allardyce restored some faith with a battling 2-2 draw at Hull City on Monday night - and it seems that his players gained some confidence from that with a superb win over Liverpool on Saturday evening.

Just 75 seconds into the game, Winston Reid handed the Hammers a shock lead, and inside seven minutes it was 2-0 as Diafra Sakho chipped Simon Mignolet from the edge of the box. Raheem Sterling did pull one back for Liverpool just shy of the half hour mark, but Morgan Amalfitano sealed an impressive win for West Ham with a late third.

It was something of a shock win to many, but it was Liverpool's second defeat in seven days as they capped off a difficult week, but that didn't stop Hammers stars tweeting their delight on social network on Saturday night.

Goalkeeper Adrian - who was involved in an off the ball scuffle with Mario Balotelli - Aaron Cresswell and goalscorer Reid all posted celebratory messages after a superb home win.
