Shimmer in forest green – you’ll be the envy of the room
Jewel colours have always been the go-to shades for autumn, but this season they’ve taken a darker path. Purples have become muddied violets, sapphire blues have been shot through with black and ruby reds are oxbloods. But the “it” colour for nails and eyes is forest green, a tougher take on emerald (which runs the risk of looking a bit Wizard of Oz-ish). On nails, a matte, Hunter-wellies shade with lots of lacquer on top can look lovely and grown up. But I’m enjoying Orly’s Nail Polish in Smoked Out (£10.50, graftonsbeauty.co.uk), an almost-black, glittering metallic. At the shows, models at Beradi wore the trend on their eyes with grungy green eyeliner – I’m trying a simple, shimmery flick.
