Forest boss Stuart Pearce will no doubt be happy that closest challengers Norwich City also dropped two points by drawing 2-2 at home to Birmingham City. But with the second tier as tight as it is, every single point will prove vital come the end of the season.
The home side had the best of things, with 55 per cent of the ball and more than twice as many goal-scoring chances as their visitors. They also had double the amount of shots on target as Pearce's men.
As a result, it was no surprise some of Forest's players expressed their happiness at a hard-fought point well won.
Taking to social media after the match, Michael Mancienne wrote, 'Great point today and thanks to all the traveling fans on to the next one.'
"(We) heard you throughout the game," the second half substitute wrote.
