A post on Rockstar Games' official website reveals the added first-person feature in the updated versions of Grand Theft Auto 5.
Some interesting information has been discovered on the Grand Theft Auto V developer's website, which seems to confirm a first-person mode will be included in the upcoming PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game.
The mode was stated as a 'brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more.' The Rockstar Games post also said 'a brand new first person mode while on foot' will be available too. This information can be seen on the screen-captured image of the post from Rockstar's website.
The reveal was spotted on gtaforums.com, where a user saw the image of the page before it was pulled down by Rockstar. Animals in GTA Online are mentioned, along with more content, and a video editor for the PC version too.
The relevant information from the post on Rockstar's support page, about GTA V pre-release information, is below:
Question: When upgrading from the Xbox 360 or PS3 version of GTAV to a PS4, Xbox One, or PC version, what changes will I see?
Answer: Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.
All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.
Grand Theft Auto V for PC will also feature a video editor designed for advanced movie-making.
In addition to the above features, you'll see:
A brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more
A brand new first person mode while on foot
A wealth of new easter eggs and random events for Story Mode
New animals roaming Los Santos
Animals in GTA Online?
Players that transfer characters from Xbox 360 or PS3 will receive free new weapons and a free garage in GTA Online.
Newly overhauled character selection screen
As we said above, the page has been pulled down by Rockstar, however, checking the Google cache of the page confirms it's not a fake. But, Rockstar clearly didn't intend for this information to be released just yet, if at all, so take it with a pinch of salt until the devs confirm whether those features are definitely heading to the new versions of the game.
Modders have already implemented a first-person view mode in the console versions of the game, and you can check out their efforts over here.
The release date for Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 and Xbox One was recently revealed as 18th November 2014, with a PC release arriving on 27th January. A new trailer showcasing the improvement in graphics was also released on the same day.
