Many people believe that Manchester City and Chelsea will be the Premier League’s top two come May.

There is no doubt that the squads constructed by Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho are among the best in Europe, but while the reigning champions have struggled of late, the London side have looked every inch title-winners elect.

Today’s hosts will no doubt be hoping to put their visitors in their place and prove their recent dip in form was nothing more than a blip. But Mourinho will know if he can inspire a victory in City’s backyard it will be a huge psychological blow early in the campaign.

This one really could go either way, which is why a high-scoring draw could be the most likely outcome given the attacking talent on display.

Diego Costa is back for Chelsea despite Mourinho’s ongoing concerns regarding the Spanish international’s hamstring, while City welcome back Pablo Zabaleta after his European suspension.
