Brendan Rodgers 2

Liverpool suffered their third defeat in five Premier League games as West Ham United emerged victorious at Upton Park.

Here are the top five stats from the Liverpool's defeat to the Hammers:

1) West Ham have scored nine league goals in their opening five games this season, having needed 11 games to reach the same figure last term.

2) Stewart Downing has more assists this season in five Premier League games (three) than he did in the whole of 2013-14 season (two in 32 PL apps). He created one goal in this tie.

3) Steven Gerrard had a game to forget. The former England captains completed just 82% of his passes, failed to find a team-mate with any of his five crosses and lost all four of his attempted tackles.

4) Adam Lallana completed 100% of the passes after coming on as a second half substitute, creating one chance in the process. He also won both of his attempted tackles.

5) Liverpool have now lost three of their first five Premier League games this season – only the second time that this has happened (The 2012-13 campaign is the only other occasion).
