A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Former Barcelona striker David Villa has compared soon-to-be Tottenham star DeAndre Yedlin to Dani Alves.
Alves has been a key feature in the Barcelona defence, which has been so successful in the recent past.
“I’ve seen many matches - I like the player Yedlin. People noticed him at the World Cup, and he reminds me a bit of my former Barcelona teammate, Dani Alves,” said the Spaniard.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has called for his side to be deadlier in front of goal.
Spurs have failed to win their last three matches in all competitions as they prepare to take on West Brom tomorrow.
“It's important we beat West Bromwich Albion so we can stay in touch with the other teams at the top of the table - We have to remain focused on what we need to do so we can compete with the same intensity we played in the first two matches. We need to be more clinical in both penalty areas,” he told the press.
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson says Tottenham Hotspur are the only definite winners this weekend.
Spurs take on West Brom tomorrow in a game that plenty will already have down as a home win.
“Tottenham left a lot of first-choice players out for their long trip in the Europa League and I think they will win this comfortably. The pace of Emmanuel Adebayor is always a threat up front, they close down and they work hard. They are the cert of the weekend,” he told Sky Sports.
