There is simply no secret about it, Gary Neville and the Liverpool faithful have never seen eye to eye. Even with his blossoming bromance with Jamie Carragher emerging on Monday Night Football and his often praising appraisals of Liverpool's performances on the pitch there is no doubt that he is still not popular at Anfield.
And today he has got stuck in to a current Liverpool player via Twitter. Liverpool lost to West ham today, going down 3-1 to goals from Winston Reid, Diafra Sakho and Morgan Amalfitano - despite Raheem Sterling bringing Liverpool back into the game.
But it was a game in which Liverpool again looked poor defensively - which saw Mamadou Sakho brought into proceedings.
He entered the field of play for Javier Manquillo after just over 20 minutes, as Liverpool went three at the back.
And he clearly did not impress Neville.
Has Sakho ever headed a ball where he wants it to go?— Gary Neville (@GNev2) September 20, 2014
Sakho, along with the rest of Liverpool's defenders, must improve and fast if the club are going to mount a serious title challenge this season. Based on current form however finishing in the top four should be their immediate concern.
