Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
The Gunners were in control of the contest right from the start and went ahead just past the half-hour mark.
Germany international playmaker and 2014 World Cup winner, Mesut Ozil, who had come under strong criticisms of late, was the scorer.
Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck was the architect of the goal, setting up the ex-Real Madrid star with a brilliant through-ball.
Then on 34 minutes Welbeck scored his first goal for Arsenal when he turned in Ozil’s cross from close range with ease (click here to read more).
It became 3-0 to Arsenal just a minute later when Aly Cissokho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
Arsenal could have gone into the half-time interval with a 5-0 lead, had Ozil and Aaron Ramsey been able to take their chances in the final 10 minutes of the first half.
Welbeck had a chance early in the second half to double his tally, but the 23-year-old striker saw his attempt from close range saved.
