Everyone knows that Arsenal FC have been chasing the talented 21-year-old playmaker Julian Draxler of Schalke 04 for the past couple of seasons.
The German international, who has a release clause of £37 million, has been on the radar of Arsene Wenger for the past 24 months and rumours of his arrival periodically do the rounds in the press.
However it is believed that Arsenal's interest in the player cooled because of his injury troubles and dip in form.
But based on the start he has made to this season that interest will soon be back on the agenda. He has put in some excellent performances for Schalke, including against Chelsea in the Champions League this week.
Today was no different. He scored in the 50th minute of the Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt today - which was an equaliser after the club had gone 2-0 down in Gelsenkirchen.
That was his first goal if the season, and on a day of firsts, he also picked up a red card - the first in his professional career.
In a fractious affair, which also saw Kevin Prince-Boateng and Slobodan Medojevic given their marching orders, Draxler saw a straight red in the 71st minute for a nasty challenge on Carlos Zambrano, in what was a very eventful day for the long-term Arsenal target.
And all of this on his 21st birthday, what a day at the office.
