Arsene Wenger has criticised in some quarters for his lack of transfer activity this summer. However the players he has brought into The Emirates are undoubtedly showing off their quality so far this season.
Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez both look like superb acquisitions while in time that is likely to prove the same with David Ospina and Danny Welbeck.
However, above all of the recruits, £16 million summer signing Calum Chambers has to have been the most impressive so far.
He has excelled, mostly as a central defender, and is now likely to revert back to right-back after the six week lay-off for Mathieu Debuchy.
Arsene Wenger has had high praise for the player, whose form has seen him win his first England cap, and today he again sang the praises of the mature 19-year-old.
He told his morning press conference:
"I like his attitude, I like his intelligence and I like the fact that he came into the team with a good resistance to the pressure and just played his game. I am very impressed by him."
Chambers is expected to be fit for this weekend's game at Aston Villa - with a place at right-back likely in place of the crocked Debuchy.
And he will need to be on his best form to keep a rampant Aston Villa side quiet, and get Arsenal's season kicked back into gear.
