Supergirl TV show scores CBS network deal

DC Supergirl 3

The recently-confirmed superhero show now has a place to call home.

About a week ago it was confirmed a Supergirl TV series was being developed, but it was yet to find a TV network to call home. However, now it's been confirmed that CBS is taking on the show.

The show was only taken out to networks on Wednesday, with the deal closing Thursday night. The show is to be produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) and Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family).

Supergirl is Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, and she shares the Man of Steel's powers and vulnerability to Kryptonite. The show will start with Kara using her abilities, unlike the Superman TV show Smallville, which slowly built up Clark discovering his abilities and becoming his superhero persona. Thanks, Deadline.
