Micah Richards was in good spirits after beginning his Fiorentina stay with a comfortable Europa League win over Guingamp.
The former England defender joined the Serie A side on a season-long loan, ending 13 straight years at Manchester City.
Richards was introduced in the 56th minute, replacing Stefan Savić and he looked solid as Fiorentina eased past their French opponents.
Fiorentina went ahead in the 34th minute thanks to Juan Manuel Vargas, summer transfer talking point Juan Cuadrado made it 2-0 and Federico Bernardeschi rounded off the victory in the dying minutes.
After the final whistle, Richards seemed to have enjoyed his first taste of Italian football.
"I want to thank the coach and the club for the faith they have placed in me.
"Every game has its own story and against Genoa it was a whole different game, but it was important to win today and it will give us an injection of confidence going forward."
Fiorentina lost their season opener to Roma and then drew 0-0 with Genoa and they will look for their first win of the Serie A campaign when they travel to Atalanta.
