Manchester United looked like something like a team who could make it to the top four this season for the first time last weekend, as they dispatched of QPR in unceremonious fashion at Old Trafford.
Excellent displays from Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera gained much of the plaudits - but the return of Rafael at right-back also helped matters.
The Brazilian is often under-rated but his influence on a back-line that contained Jonny Evans, Tyler Blackett and Marcos Rojo was undoubtedly key to victory.
He has been out with an injury picked up in pre-season but now he is back in action and ready to go. Today an interview with the Brazilian was posted on Manchester United's official website. In the discussion he mentioned how impressed he has been with Di Maria in training and how Paul Scholes has scored the best goals he has ever seen at Carrington.
But he was also asked who he would have in his United five-a-side team. Unfortunately for Di Maria, the Brazilian clearly did not fancy an Argentine in his team.
"I would say Chris Smalling [is the most competitive]. He is very good and very competitive in training. Yes [in my ideal five-a-side team], I would put Chris and I together at the back with Antonio [Valencia], Wazza [Wayne Rooney] and Ander Herrera."
Also no room for Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao or Daley Blind - even though fellow newbie Herrera got the nod.
Obviously it takes a lot to impress gaffer Rafael.
