Predicted Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion line-ups

Tottenham WHL

Match to be played on Sunday 21st September 2014 at 13:30. Venue: White Hart Lane, London.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion are enjoying very different starts to the current season. While Mauricio Pochettino’s side has done relatively well in the league to date – taking seven points from a possible 12 – Alan Irvine’s Baggies have taken just two points and are 19th as a result.

Irvine has spoken about the importance of getting the first win on the board as soon as possible, but that will not be easy against a Spurs side who now have impressive strength-in-depth in almost all areas.

Benjamin Stambouli will hope to get a start after impressing as a substitute against Sunderland last weekend, while for West Brom it is crucial they tighten up at the back after conceding five goals in their last two matches.

Tottenham injury concerns: Roberto Soldado has a 75 per cent chance of recovering from a neck injury in time for this game, while Jan Vertonghen will also be hoping a muscle injury is well and truly behind him.

Tottenham absences: Kyle Walker remains out with a pelvis injury, but the right-back is Pochettino’s only major absentee.

West Brom injury concerns: The Baggies have injury concerns over a trio of players. Victor Anichebe is currently recovering from a knock but is likely to be available; Stephane Sessegnon’s eye injury is currently raising questions over his participation; while Youssouf Mulumbu has a hamstring problem but again has a good chance of starting.

West Brom absences: Silvestre Varela is unlikely to feature as the on-loan winger is still lacking match-fitness following his arrival from FC Porto.

Predicted starting line-ups:

Tottenham – Lloris, Dier, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Davies, Stambouli, Dembele, Eriksen, Chadli, Lamela, Adebayor

West Brom – Foster, Gamboa, Dawson, Olsson, Wisdom, Dorrans, Gardner, Mulumbu, Brunt, Morrison, Berahino
