Match to be played on Sunday 21st September 2014 at 13:30. Venue: King Power Stadium, Leicester.
Leicester City will be confident heading into the huge game against Manchester United this weekend.
The Foxes defeated Stoke City 1-0 away from home in their last game, which gives them momentum they can use to their advantage heading into this game.
Here’s the side that Leicester could start with this weekend.
GK – Ben Hamer
Hamer should continue to deputise for Kasper Schmeichel who is out of action with a knee problem.
RB – Ritchie de Laet
De Laet has extra incentive to play well against his former employers. He’ll have his work cut out against Angel Di Maria down that side.
CB – Wes Morgan
Wes Morgan needs to create a presence in the back four against a very talented attack.
CB – Liam Moore
This will be a big test for Moore. The experience in United’s attack could see them target him as they look to pull him out of position.
LB – Paul Konchesky
Konchesky will add vital experience into the back four. He’s played against dynamic attacks before and done well.
RM – Riyad Mahrez
Mahrez’ job will be to create width and drive at Marcos Rojo down that side of the pitch. He can use his pace to his advantage.
CM – Dean Hammond
Hammond will provide the experience in the middle of the team. He’ll be an important player if the match doesn’t start as Leicester will be hoping.
CM – Andy King
King will provide more creativity in the middle of the team. He played well against Stoke and pulled the strings against a very physical team.
LM – Jeff Schlupp
Schlupp publicly had trials with Manchester United and this is a chance for him to show United they got it wrong by not offering him a long term deal.
ST – David Nugent
Nugent has good experience up front and he’ll use any advantage he can get to push defenders back as well as utilise space.
ST – Leonardo Ulloa
Ulloa scored the only goal of the game against Stoke and he’ll be out hunting another. He’ll be looking for any chance to get in behind the United back four.
