Predicted Everton and Crystal Palace line-ups - McGeady and Zaha to start

Match to be played on Sunday 21st September 2014 at 16:00. Venue: Goodison Park, Liverpool.

Everton take on Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Sunday, with the Toffees hoping to maintain the fine form they showed against West Bromwich Albion and the Eagles desperate to climb away from the relegation zone.

Two points from their opening from four games means Palace are level on points with the three sides currently occupying the bottom three positions, and Neil Warnock will know that first victory of the season is vital.

But getting it at Everton will be a tough ask, with Roberto Martinez’s side scoring at least twice in all their matches this to date.

Romelu Lukaku will no doubt be hoping to remain in the goals after getting off the mark last weekend, while Player of the Month Steven Naismith will not want to be upstaged.

As for Palace, they have shown they have a goal or three in them more than once this season, but their failure to find the net against Burnley last time out means they really cannot afford a repeat performance.

Everton injury concerns: The Toffees have doubts surrounding five of their first-team players. Strikers Arouna Kone and Samuel Eto’o have a knee problem and a minor knock respectively, Steven Pienaar has a groin injury, and defenders Bryan Oviedo and Sylvain Distin are both doubts, the latter with a leg injury and the former due to a lack of match fitness having only recently returned to action after suffering a broken leg.

Everton absences: Tony Hibbert remains side-lined but should return by the end of the month, while Ross Barkley is a long-term absentee with a knee injury.

Crystal Palace injury concerns: Midfielder Joe Ledley is a doubt with a hip injury and may have to make do with a place on the bench at best.

Crystal Palace absences: Marouane Chamakh is out with a hamstring injury and is not expected to be back until the middle of next month.

Predicted starting line-ups:

Everton – Howard, Coleman, Stones, Jagielka, Baines, Barry, McCarthy, McGeady, Mirallas, Naismith, Lukaku

Crystal Palace – Speroni, Ward, Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Zaha, Jedinak, McArthur, Puncheon, Campbell, Gayle
