Liverpool latest: Why youngster wants Milan move, Sterling joke and £12m star in prestigious line-up

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from Anfield...

Liverpool youngster Suso wants to move to AC Milan because he wants to play alongside Fernando Torres, according to a report.

Tuttomercatoweb.com claims that the 20-year-old Spanish attacker idolises his compatriot Torres, who joined the Italian giants on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Suso’s current contract with Liverpool runs out next summer, and Milan are reportedly willing to sign the youngster in January for a small fee.

One Liverpool youngster who is not leaving Anfield anytime soon is Raheem Sterling. The 19-year-old England international is one of the best young players in Europe and has abundance of pace.

The teenager’s speed has been the subject of a joke between Reds legends Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush.

When asked by Fowler if in his prime, he could run faster than Sterling, Rush said: ‘Yeah, because he was only 10 then!’

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s £12 million summer signing Alberto Moreno has been named in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week.

The Spain international left-back was in inspired form against Ludogorets Razgrad at Anfield in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Daniel Sturridge did not feature in that game, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Premier League club. That’s because the 25-year-old England international striker is suffering from a thigh injury.

However, the former Chelsea and Manchester City player will resume full training next week, with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers hopeful that he will be back in action against Everton in the Merseyside derby on September 27.

‘Daniel is doing well and is out on the field doing some work’, he told the Liverpool Echo. ‘He should hopefully be back training at some point next week and will have a chance for the derby’.
