Everton got their 2014/15 Europa League campaign off to the perfect start by thrashing Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg 4-1 at Goodison Park.
Everton opened the scoring when Ricardo Rodriguez inadvertently diverted Steven Naismith's goalbound shot in to the net, and Seamus Coleman made it two when Leighton Baines played the ball across goal.
Baines then got his own name on the scoresheet from the penalty spot when Robin Knoche felled Aiden McGeady, but Wolfsburg dominated the game from then on, with Tim Howard making a string of fine saves to keep Dieter Hecking's side at bay.
Wolfsburg were then caught on the counter as Kevin Mirallas made it four with a tidy finish, and with virtually the last kick of the game, Rodriguez somewhat atoned for his earlier error with a stunning free kick.
Everton's first European game in four years went without a hitch, and here are some of the best images from the game.
