Deadpool movie is heading for February 2016 release

Deadpool

20th Century Fox have confirmed the anti-hero is to receive his own movie.

That title's no joke, seriously, 20th Century Fox have announced that the Merc with a Mouth is receiving his own standalone movie, and it's slated to hit cinemas on 12th February 2016.

Ryan Reynolds is expected to star in the movie written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieand), with it being directed by Tim Miller.

The news comes after Deadpool test footage was leaked a couple of months ago, which showed the anti-hero messing about on the freeway, and was voiced by Reynolds himself. The tweet below from Superhero Report also supposedly shows Reynolds behind the scenes on set for what appears to be the test footage. Thanks, superherohype.com.

20th Century Fox also revealed that the Assassin's Creed movie has been pushed back to 2016, along with the Fantastic Four reboot moving to a 7th August 2015 release.
