Spurs player ratings from 0-0 draw with Partizan: Fazio decent on debut, Paulinho fails to shine

Tottenham opened their Europa League group stage as they laboured to a 0-0 draw away to Partizan Belgrade.

Hugo Lloris 7/10 - Vice-captain for the night, Lloris made one super point blank save after a long throw in found a Partizan striker. The Frenchman was one of the more assured performers for Tottenham.

Kyle Naughton 6/10 - Naughton put in a steady performance at right back, certainly a little more comfortable than Davies on the other flank.

Federico Fazio 6.5/10 - The big Argentinian made his debut for Spurs, and put in a couple of decent early blocks and interceptions. Did misjudge one cross that gave Partizan a clear goalscoring chance, but generally looked good considering it was his first game.

Jan Vertonghen 6/10 - Vertonghen made one or two great striding runs forward, but he and his fullback Ben Davies looked vulnerable at various points throughout.

Ben Davies 5.5/10 - Was a little exposed down the left at the beginning of the game, though managed to improve in the second half. A tough evening for the Welshman.

Benji Stambouli 6.5/10 - Making his first start, the former Montpellier man acquitted himself well, disrupting opposition play and also showing himself able to pass the ball well.

Nabil Bentaleb 6.5/10 - Had a little more license to come forward than in other games this season, and the Algerian put in a strong performance. The only central midfielder to play the full game.

Paulinho 5.5/10 - Some nice flicks from the Brazilian as he linked up in the attacking third, but struggled to make an impression as the game wore on.

Andros Townsend 6/10 - Threatened in patches with his dribbling, and was unlucky to receive a yellow card after protesting against a foul given against him that should have gone his way.

Aaron Lennon 6/10 - Looked dangerous whenever he broke forward at pace, with one run from the left nearly seeing him played clean through. Worked hard defensively during the second period.

Harry Kane 6/10 - The young striker made a super start as he looked to make up for his unfortunate own goal against Sunderland, smashing a powerful left foot shot against the underside of the bar in the first few minutes. Struggled to get into the game for much of the rest of the match though, and suffered in the second half as Partizan enjoyed decent spells.

Erik Lamela 5.5/10 (Townsend 59') - Displayed some nice initial touches in the place of Townsend, but also gave the ball away on more than once occasion.

Roberto Soldado 5.5/10 (Paulinho 60') - The Spaniard struggled to get involved in attacking positions, often dropping deep to lay off the ball but not able to receive it in danger areas.

Etienne Capoue 6/10 (Stambouli 72') - Showed some decent touches and the expected strong defensive work once he replaced countryman Stambouli.
