Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has praised the club's new signings after their performances against Partizan.
Both players were featuring in their first Europa League game for the club, helping secure a 0-0 draw.
Fazio knows the competition well, winning the tournament with Sevilla last season and was impressive in the heart of the Spurs defence with captain Younes Kaboul left at home.
After the game, Pochettino told Tottenham's website: "We competed, kept a clean sheet but we wanted the three points.
"It’s important not to lose these games, of course. It was difficult but we need to look forward and look at the positives, like Fazio and Stambouli making their first starts for us. They did very well."
The big question heading into the weekend however, is whether either of the pair will retain their places.
Spurs face West Brom on Sunday, and left Kaboul at home, while Etienne Capoue was only a substitute in Serbia.
It's likely both will come back in at White Hart Lane, and the new signings be given another chance to shine in the Capital One Cup next week against Nottingham Forest as they ease themselves into life at their new club.
The performances of both, with Stambouli making the highest number of tackles in the team, and Fazio leading in terms of interceptions, suggested that if they are picked to take on the Baggies, neither will let the club down.
