The latest Queens Park Rangers transfer news, views and rumours.

Mark Hughes

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says he did his best during his time at QPR but holds his hands up to the fact that his Loftus Road tenure wasn't good enough.

The Welshman was at the Rs before Harry Redknapp but was sacked during a season in which the west London side were ultimately relegated.

"You make the changes for what you think are the right reasons, reasons that you think will enhance the club and allow it to flourish and prosper in the future but sometimes it doesn't come off and you have to hold your hands up," he told reporters.

"On paper, the players were very good players but the combination and the dynamic in the dressing room just didn't work. Sometimes you can't envisage that happening until you bring the group together.

"It was a difficult time and obviously at the end of the day I was judge on results. My results at the beginning of the season weren't good enough so I lost my job."

Peter Crouch

Elsewhere, Redknapp appears to maintain an interest in Stoke striker Peter Crouch.

The Potters visit Loftus Road in the Premier League this wekeend.

"I've managed Crouch at most places I've been to," Redknapp told reporters.

"He's a player we've spoken about a few times - you'd always have Crouchy, he's a great bloke and a great player - but nothing came of it."

QPR are currently 16th in the Premier League after one win from their opening four games.
